From Phoenix's foster mom-
"Phoenix is an empathic snuggler. Hes the sort of dog who is so thoughtful, and cares so much about how others feel. Hell come over to you with his cute paws and then sit his skinny self on your lap (he will proudly keep your lap warm)! And then hell look in your eyes like he knows exactly what kind of day youve had. This dog loves absolutely everyone and loves every dog he has met.
Phoenix loves adventure. He has been so good on the trails with us (on and off leash). He has excellent recall. He loves to chase things too, especially in my home he races down the hall chasing the ball non-stop. He can actually entertain himself too. I would recommend he go to a home with another dog because he loves to have a buddy around.
Phoenix is a gentle dog who responds well to positive reinforcement. He is smart and only needs to be corrected once. He wants to do nothing more than please you. I have not had to crate Phoenix, but he is crate-trained by his previous foster in Los Angles. Phoenix is house trained and has not pottied once in my home, but he does have access to a dog door which he uses.
At night Phoenix sleeps in his dog bed next to my bed and at some point in the evening he will join the rest of my dog pack and sleep in the bed with us. He sleeps very soundly and doesnt wake up at all during the night. Phoenix has joined me at work occasionally. He doesnt bark unless he wants to get another dogs attention to play. So he makes a great office dog. You should see him at my work when someone walks into my office, he shakes his tail nonstop. "
